Maintaining the CIP Designation
After earning the CIP designation, the next step is to maintain your designation by completing 24 hours of continuing education credits within the certification period. The certification period begins January 1 of the year after the certification process is completed and is good for the following three years*. Any credits earned during the year a candidate earns the certification do not apply towards recertification.
To maintain your designation, you can attend Ascensus seminars and advanced courses of study that have been approved by the Certification Board. A $50 per event fee will be charged to review and determine CE credit for non-Ascensus training programs. Email us at education@ascensus.com for additional information. Your CIP designation also may be maintained by successfully completing updated CIP examinations.

*Credits in excess of the required 24 each three years do not carry over to future recertification.
